Famous People Born In Delaware: Henry Heimlich: Surgeon and inventor, Heimlich was born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1920. He has developed the Heimlich maneuver to save choking victims. In the early 1970s he practiced medicine in New York City and Ohio in the 1970s. He was a specialist in digestive disorders and invented the “Heimlich Maneuver” in mid-1970s as a way to save choking victims.
Teri Polo: Hollywood actress Teri Polo made her movie debut in the late 1980s. She was born on august 29, 1969 in Delaware. An attractive blonde ballet dancer, Teri began her ballet career at the age of six. She headed to New York City during her teenage years to pursue education, but ended as an actress. She co-starred with Ethan Hawke in a romantic adventure movie “mystery date” in 1991. She landed more roles n the early 1990s including Aspen Extreme, House of the Spirits and Passed Away.
