Lisa Leslie: Lisa Leslie was the first woman to score 3,000 points at the WNBA. She was also the first one to perform the slam dunk at the WNBA. Leslie began playing basketball when she was studying in the seventh grade. Her height at that time was an amazing six feet! Lisa was the first player to win the WNBA championship, All-star Game MVP and regular season awards in the same season.
Wilt Chamberlain: The popularity of basketball in Philadelphia influenced young Wilt a lot, although he was not fond of playing basketball during his childhood. With a height of seven feet one inch Wilt Chamberlain was one of the most powerful basketball players. Known for his shot blocking abilities and physical strength, Wilt changed a lot of conventional stuff in basketball and included his own such as free throws, lane widening and ball inbounds. With a host of NBA all-time records, Wilt found a place in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1978.
Micheal Jordan: One of the greatest all-time basketball players, Micheal Jordon was born on February 17, 1963. At first, Jordon was refused entry to the varsity basketball team because of his height. But, he did not lose hope and tried his best to play his favorite sport. His efforts and extraordinary leaping abilities won him the title of ‘Air Jordon’ and this led him to be one of the greatest basketball players. In 1988, Jordon was declared the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. He won six NBA finals MVP awards and three steals titles.
